About Lexi
"Lexie is the best Labrador Pointer/ Retriever (gundog) I have owned and hunted in my 60 plus years of hunting.  She is my 8th Lab, Lexi being a Pointer/retriever labrador.  A dog like Lexie is rare and may only come along “once in a lifetime”.  I originally got her to hunt but after five years of hunting and seeing what an awesome dog she is, I decided to pass her genes on and have her bred to Willie.  Willie is the best pointing Lab sire that I could find, considering his pedigree, color coat gene types, pointer/retriever test record and conformation.  Willie is a 4XGMPR and every Lab in his three generation pedigree is a pointer and 10 of 14 dogs are Grand Master Pointer Retriever (GMPR) or better.  It doesn’t get any better than this!
Lexie’s outstanding hunting abilities are documented in the following “Hunter Testimonies” by folks who hunted with Lexie over the past four years

Lexi on her 1st hunt at 4 months of age

Birth and One Year Old, Pheasant hunting in Idaho and South Dakota:  "Lexie was pick of the litter and I sold her to Pete.  While hunting in South Dakota (Lexie was 1 yr old) I shot a cock pheasant that fell into a lake.  We had four labs at our feet.  All four dogs jumped into the lake about the same time.  Lexie out swam the dogs, fetched the pheasant, swam around the other dogs and returned it to Pete.”  N. Reade, Idaho, Retired High School Mathematics Teacher.

4 Months, Pheasant Hunting in South Dakota:  “I had the occasion to share Lexie's first pheasant hunt in South Dakota (Oct. 2015).  Please keep in mind that she was only 4 months old.  I watched her very first pheasant.... the rooster flushed.  Lexie mark the downed bird and complete a 40+ yard retrieve, through a fence.  She made several more retrieves and points during our ten day hunt. Needless to say, I was super impressed."  J. Skrade, Wisconsin, Retired Alaska Fish and Game Biologist (48 year), Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game

4 Months and 1 year, Pheasant Hunting in South Dakota:  "Lexie is the most outstanding Labrador Retriever I have ever hunted with.  She points, is incredible birdy and so full of energy she never stops. She is the most dependable retriever I have ever seen.  She obeys hand signals, is super obedient and obsessed with getting a bird."   J Steele, Washington. Retired Accountant:

2 Year Old, Pheasant Hunting in Washington, Idaho and South Dakota: Lexie, the wonder dog:  Pete Murray and I have hunted ducks & pheasants together with Labrador retrievers in South Dakota, Idaho and Washington State.  Pete has always had good bird hunting labs.  One of his best duck dogs was a black lab that could actually dive under water and retrieve diving ducks!
Pete’s newest dog, Lexie, is however, the most intelligent of all the labs he has had.  She is a “pointing lab” and rather than rush into game birds she will hold and wait for Pete to catch up before given the command to flush a bird.  Best of all, she is the best retriever as she never seems to miss sighting and seeing where the bird goes down.  When hunting at Little Canyon, Idaho, I shot a cock pheasant that locked its wings and glided across the canyon (250 yards).  Lexie went down the steep canyon, out of sight, up the other side, found the pheasant & returned it to Pete.  Absolutely amazing!

3 Years Old, Pheasant Hunting in Idaho and South Dakota:  Lexie is a bird hunting machine.  "She never runs out of gas.  An excellent hunting dog that can do it all...find the birds, point, mark, retrieve and very manageable."
F. Maddox, Arizona.

4 Years Old, Pheasant Hunting in Oregon:  "Had the privilege of hunting the last 3 Days of 2019 with Pete Murray and his dog Lexie. What a treat!  I have never seen a bird dog with as much drive and intensity as Lexie has, while still being well mannered and manageable. Pete says she's the best dog he's ever had; high praise, because he has had some outstanding ones."  P. O'Renick,Oregon.  Active Hunter
4 Year Old, Pheasant Hunting in Oregon:  “I tagged along with Pete and Pat for two days so I could watch Lexie hunt.  I had heard a lot of incredible things about the "super dog" that I had to see it for myself.  During the three-day hunt she made several points and she marked (pin-pointed) all five pheasants and returned them to Pete.  I have owned the ranch for 20 years and had numerous hunters come and go....Lexie is the best, working Lab I have ever seen; she has endless energy and never quits. In addition, Pete maintained the best control of a hunting dog that I have ever seen and Lexie was obedient and cooperative” B. Nash, Oregon, Retired Rancher.
